Woman in Car Pins Retail Store Employee Between Car and Restaurant
A woman was arrested Saturday for allegedly trying to hit a retail store employee with her car then striking another, pinning the employee between the vehicle and the front of a restaurant. 20-year-old Tianna Harris, of Indiana, was charged with two counts of felonious assault. Columbus police said two retail employees attempted to stop Harris and another woman from stealing from a store in the 1200 block of South James Road at around 4:30 p.m. Officers said Harris could be seen on video driving her car at employees as one tried to record her. A 37-year-old woman was struck. Police said Harris left and an employee chased her vehicle trying to record her registration. According to police, that employee was walking in front of TAT Ristorante Di Famiglia on his way back to the store when Harris allegedly drove at him, pinning him between the car and the restaurant. Officers said harris and the unknown woman fled the vehicle while leaving the 19-year-old man pinned. Harris was arrested about a half-mile from the incident. Police said she denied involvement at the time of the arrest. Both victims are expected to survive police say. Harris will be arraigned on Jan. 18. TAT Ristorante Di Famiglia posted that it will remain closed temporarily while it makes repairs. |
