Broward Sheriff's Office detectives are searching for two masked gunmen who robbed a restaurant in Weston, and they are hoping the release of a surveillance video will lead to their arrests.
The armed robbery happened around 10:40 p.m. April 28 at the Moon Thai and Japanese Restaurant, 2818 Weston Road, detectives said.
Surveillance video showed the two men entering the restaurant through a back door. The first robber grabbed an employee from behind, put his hand over the employee's mouth and put a gun to his head while the second robber questioned him.
Off camera, they pushed that employee into the women's restroom, where he was held at gunpoint. The second robber rounded up the other employees and forced them into the restroom, investigators said.
Then the surveillance video showed the second robber going into the dining room of the closed restaurant and poking through the shelves near the cash register. Finding nothing, he got a woman employee from the restroom and brought her out to open the register for him.
