An 18-year-old man was arrested Friday in Stockton, on suspicion of homicide and gang-related charges.
He is accused in the death of Jeanette Gaines, who was caught in the center of a gun battle near Phelps and Ninth streets March 28, 2012 police said.
Gaines, a 56-year-old bystander, was shot and died later at a local hospital.
Stockton police detectives said during the course of their investigation, they acquired information that implicated Terrell Lamont Washington, 18, of Stockton, in Gaines' death.
On Friday, police found and arrested Washington in the area of Sixth and El Dorado streets.
He was booked at the San Joaquin County Jail.

He's an idiot and obviously thinks that just mentioning that the guy is black is racist and calling a murderer scum is racist just because the person is black. Yet if he cared to pay attention would notice all murderers get called scum, it has nothing to do with race.
