Thieves Using a Minivan to Smash into a Bowling Alley Stealing an ATM
Vancouver, Wash. Jan.3 2011. Police are trying to track down a pair of suspects who drove into a bowling alley and drove off with an ATM machine. The entrance at Allen's Crosley Lanes on Evergreen Boulevard just off of Mill Plain boulevard in Vancouver was heavily damaged by the theft. The smash-and-grab robbery happened at around 2:40 a.m. Monday and was caught on security video. Investigators said one of the suspects was dressed in camouflage. In the video, the suspects drive a black minivan right through the front doors of the bowling alley, knocking over video machines and a Christmas tree. The suspects then back over the ATM twice to dislodge it, quickly load it into the back of the van and drive back out the front doors. The license plates on the van are not clear enough to discern any information. The business sustained substantial damage. It is the third ATM theft in Clark County in less than a month. In the middle of December, thieves made off with two machines at convenience stores in Vancouver and Ridgefield. In those cases the crooks didn't get any cash and ended up ditching both machines. Police continue to investigate the latest theft. |
