On the evening of July 3, the police of the district of Lai Thieu (Ho Chi Minh City) questioned Nguyen Hien Phuc, 25 years, and arrested him over the abuse of a young girl, after a video of the incident went viral.

Further investigation revealed that the incident took place in a house on Vinh Phu 38 Street in the district Lai Thieu in Ho Chi Minh City. The girl is the stepdaughter of the woman who lived together with Nguyen Hien Phuc.

According to the girl's mother, he hits her regularly, but she has not recently made video-recordings as proof. Nguyen Hien Phuc used the excuse that the kind was often prickly in nature so he hit her repeatedly and verbally mishandled and threatened her.
