Welcome to another night of violence in the life of a Sydney taxi driver.
The attack was filmed by fellow taxi driver Adrian Neylan at 11.45pm on a Saturday.
Mr Neylan, who has been a driver for 12 years, said he noticed a disturbance inside the vehicle in front of him when he flicked on the record switch.
"I just noticed the cab wasn't leaving and something was going on inside." Mr Neylan said. "Before I knew it, the poor guy was almost knocked out after he got out."
Mr Neylan said that these incidents were commonplace on the weekend at Kings Cross.
"A lot of the cabbies just don't have the faith to report these incidents when they happen because they feel the police won't take it up or do enough work" Mr Neylan said.
"The problem with these people is they're all tanked up from drinking in the suburbs and by the time they get to the Cross, they get out of hand.
"I'd say they were just pushing their luck and were trying to create a problem. They definitely did the bolt when they put him on the ground."
Kings Cross Police said last night the incident had not been reported.
It is not the first time Mr Neylan has witnessed this sort of aggressive behaviour towards cab drivers.
Writing on his Cab Blog, Mr Neylan said that Saturday night was when the "weekend warriors" came out to play.
