Re: Suit Filed Against Cop That Stops & Beats Girl After Riding Her Bicycle on Sidewalk
ok wait i finally was able to read the text my poor eyes! "When she appears to resist the officer, he grabs her by the arm to subdue her. When that doesn't work, Drogo grabs the pepper spray on his utility belt. Still standing behind Stevenson, Drogo tries to spray her, but instead accidentally sprays himself in the face. The officer, appearing stunned, then grabs Stevenson off the bicycle and drags her to the ground." so she got beat cuz the dumb ass sprayed himself in the face with pepper spray lol also "In connection with the incident, Stevenson was charged with possession of cocaine, resisting arrest, providing false information to a law enforcement officer, obstruction of justice and failure to turn over a controlled dangerous substance to police. Stevenson was found guilty of resisting arrest in Municipal Court last June. She was fined $756, plus court costs, according to court records. On the drug possession charge, she was given a conditional discharge, meaning the count would be dismissed if she stayed out of trouble." now let me tell you something in my youth i was in trouble quite a bit and have been to jail 5 times for dui and drug possession the cops in one case caused an accident and when i said i was going to sue them cuz i had a witness the lawyer told me if i went against the police department i would find myself arrested for drug possession which they would find in my house he wasn't threatening me he was giving me a heads up they don't fucking let you go for a promise of good behavior in a case like this unless you got something on them so this was bullshit but typical of the system |

Re: Suit Filed Against Cop That Stops & Beats Girl After Riding Her Bicycle on Sidewalk
She got what she deserved!!! I do believe it's called resisting arrest! Common law offense involving physical efforts to oppose a lawful arrest: "In every case where one person has a right to arrest or restrain another, the other can have no right to resist since the two rights cannot coexist. . . . No right of self-defense can arise out of such a circumstance." 173 P. 1076, 1080-1081. Most often, the person attempting to make the arrest is a police officer in whose presence an offense has occurred, and the resistance is classified as an assault and battery upon the officer. See, e.g. 274 S.W. 17. Some modern statutes specifically label the crime "resisting arrest." See N.J.S.A. 2C:29-2.
