The victim, identified as Cristian Velázquez, died in an attempted robbery of his business. One person has been arrested.

A video from security cameras captured the exact moment in which two motorcycle thieves entered Cristian Velázquez's kiosk in the seaside town of Mar del Plata and shot him dead while trying to rob him.

According to the recording, the murder occurred at 3:37 p.m. on Monday. The entire episode lasted just one minute : in that short period of time, the suspects entered the business located on Jacinto Peralta Ramos Avenue at 700 to rob it.

There, they confronted the victim - who tried to defend himself and take the pepper spray that he had on some shelves - and, before leaving, one of them shot him fatally in the head.

The first one entered armed and dressed in a blue t-shirt and cap, while the other one entered more slowly from behind, wearing yellow shorts and a grey t-shirt.

Having been the victim of other robberies before, the kiosk owner already had a pepper spray stored on his counter, which he tried to grab to defend himself against the attack of the robbers.

However, the gunshots fired by the motorcycle thieves hit him before he could repel them and, consequently, the man was left lying lifeless on the ground. The two suspects immediately fled.

There is one person in custody in the case, identified as “ Nacho ”. Sources said that investigators from the DDI in Mar del Plata found the suspect early this morning, following an analysis of security cameras in the area.

At the same time, they claimed that "Nacho" would have been the person who drove the motorcycle used by the criminals.

The agents also seized a blue Gilera moped, which was allegedly used during the robbery. The raids were carried out in the Pueyrredón neighborhood, located about 30 blocks from the place where Velázquez was killed.

Now, the police are intensively searching for “Guachín” , his alleged accomplice, with several criminal records, according to the police.

The case is being investigated by prosecutor Alejandro Pellegrinelli , who will have to determine whether the detainee participated in the attempted robbery and the homicide. If so, “Nacho” will remain in custody.
