Great ending, but a lucky one at that. I think things would've turned out much more differently had the gun been real. Instead of saying, "great dad"! We'd be saying, "what kinda idiot is gonna risk having his children growing up 'dadless' because the father tried to play superhero?"

These stories are always kinda confusing. The cops are always really firm that people should never interfere with a robbery, never confront an armed robber, always do as you're told to prevent people getting hurt. Then this guy does the exact opposite and he's all heroic. Good on this guy, but if it'd turned out the other way, the media would totally have blamed him for confronting the guy.
