Re: Shot Dead in His Store

that was a powerful blast

A jewellery shop owner was shot dead allegedly by unidentified assailants who were wearing helmets in Subhashnagar locality here on Wednesday night. The victim, K.K.V. (42), was about to close his shop when two masked men entered and shot him twice. One of the assailants picked up a small bag in the shop, which contained some documents, before the duo fled on their bike.

He was rushed to the district hospital by his brother with the help of Dial 112 team, but he breathed his last within a few minutes while doctors were attending to him.

Police are trying to identify the killers. It is suspected that the assailants were known to the victim as robbery does not seem to be the motive behind the murder.

Police have recovered the CCTV footage of the entire incident and found that the assailants fled in the direction of Madinath temple on their bike.

The CCTV recording of the entire evening was thoroughly checked and a list of suspects has been prepared.

He is survived by his widow, N, son A, 12, and two daughters – R, 7, and L, 4. He used to live in a joint family. His elder brother deals in the supply of tailoring goods.

Expressing his inability to figure out why he was killed, his father said his son did not have any enmity with anyone.
“Both killers were carrying pistols and fired three bullets at the victim. The victim seems to have known the assailants as he did not show any signs of panic when they entered his shop. The assailants did not touch any jewellery in the shop and picked up a small document bag.

Police are investigating the case from all angles and will question family members after the cremation to get details about the suspects. We are trying to find the bike which was used by the killers. Its image may have been captured by other CCTV cameras installed in the market. The assailants will soon be arrested.”
