Shoplifting Suspect Pulls Loaded Handgun on Cop at Police Station
A simple shoplifting investigation at Walmart escalated when 21-year-old Shane C. L. Newman pulled a loaded handgun on an officer but the weapon failed to fire. Newman was subdued and arrested along with his accomplice Katerina D. Jeffrey; both are facing felony charges, with bonds set at $1 million and $500,000 respectively. |

Carrying a gun while shoplifting. I’ve seen fools before and this kid is no exception. Hope he enjoys the next few years behind bars. It’ll be a long time before he sees the light of day. |

Re: Shoplifting Suspect Pulls Loaded Handgun on Cop at Police Station
Seems to be plenty of cops around, but nobody patted this guy down I guess? Completely preventable, could've been even more tragic for one or more on-scene. Just DUMB. Not sure why he pointed it down immediately after produce-and-brandish, though: what, if you point and then point away, folks will back off? Whatever the circumstances, if you (think you have to) pull a gun, USE IT immediately. He could've capped 2, 3 people before taking return fire.

Re: Shoplifting Suspect Pulls Loaded Handgun on Cop at Police Station
He produced, pointed and triggered but the gun did not fire, so he lowered the gun to cycle the chamber with his left hand. Then he was disarmed. That psychopath was trying to waste a cop on the spot. He has no business in society at all. It was good that he was not carrying locked and loaded, but this is a good example of how that practice loses gunfights. |
