Shoplifting Suspect Holding a Gun Fatally Struck by Police Car
Pueblo, Col. The Pueblo County Coroner identified a suspect who died after he was hit by a patrol car. Pueblo Police said officers responded to an alleged theft at Famous Footwear on the north side of Pueblo near I-25 and Dillon Drive around 1:23 p.m. When the suspect ran from the store, officers said they chased him on foot and by car. According to police, the suspect ran to the Colorado State Patrol headquarters at Wills and Outlook in Pueblo and pulled out a firearm. Police said they followed the suspect and ordered him several times to drop his weapon. Officers said the suspect did not comply with their orders, and that was when an officer struck the suspect with his vehicle. The suspect received medical aid, but they said he died at the scene. On Thursday, the Coroner identified the suspect as 36-year-old Antonio Herrera of Pueblo. |

Crazy, huh? If the police had only strapped bales of styrofoam peanuts to the bumper of their cruiser, the good Antonio Herrera of Pueblo would be alive today, planning to enroll with a community college and contribute to the betterment of America.
