Shop Clerk Shot During Robbery

Police officers in Daytona Beach say they're looking for the gunman who shot a store clerk overnight.

Daytona Beach Police Department detectives said a man shot the clerk inside Friends Quick Start Food Mart on Martin Luther King Boulevard in the hand and leg.The clerk, Mohammed Morshed, told authorities that when the suspect pointed the gun at him he grabbed it and the two struggled with it until Morshed was pulled over the counter onto the floor.Investigators said Morshed told them the suspect's mask fell off during the struggle and that he recognized him has a prior customer.Morshed is expected to recover. The gunman grabbed about $1,700 and ran off.The shooting happened just before 11 p.m.Officials said the suspect is a Hispanic or mixed race male standing 5 feet 7 inches tall and weighing 180 pounds. He was wearing black pants, black shirt and a black mask with a red mouth during the incident.Anyone with information in the case is asked to call Detective G. Karcher at 386-671-5240 or Crime Stoppers at 1-888-277-TIPS (8477)

Actually, it was a real clever thing to do. The gun was a revolver and without being cocked the cylinder has to turn to line up a new bullet to fire. By grabbing the cylinder and frame, the clerk prevented the gun from being able to fire.

Actually, it was a real clever thing to do. The gun was a revolver and without being cocked the cylinder has to turn to line up a new bullet to fire. By grabbing the cylinder and frame, the clerk prevented the gun from being able to fire.
i only see he grabbed the barrel of the revolver.
it's not worth to lose ur life over some money which isn't yours anyway imo.

Are u friggin crazy? He grabbed the barrel and he shouldn't of done a thing but comply. Bet the gimp didn't even own the store but he was ready to die for it.
