A man armed with a baseball bat was captured on video being tasered to the floor by Scottish police after allegedly attacking two officers.

The incident took place in Paisley where the man is said to have attacked two policemen, with one confirmed to have suffered serious head injuries.

In the footage, one officer is seen slumped on the floor after allegedly being attacked by the suspect.

The man carrying the bat is seen with blood pouring down his face before apparently threatening the second officer.

But the remaining policeman bravely followed the suspect as he tried to leave the scene.

A 27-year-old man was arrested and taken to hospital for assessment.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: 'Around 3.30pm police were called to a report of a man in possession of a baseball bat, causing a disturbance in Murray Street, Paisley.
