Russia - Female Junkie With Knife Detained Peacefully
USA could learn.  She ran around the yard at 4 in the morning in her underpants, screaming, then came out with a knife. The whole apartment was covered in syringes, when the employees came in she started injecting herself right in front of them. |

I don't see American cops going that close to a perpetrator with a knife, but your point makes sense. I was trying to say instead of instantly going to FIRE FIRE, you can sometimes calm down a situation. |

Well, the problem is our thick-headed, knife-wielding/gun toting perps here in the US usually don't throw the weapon down even after multiple warnings. So we try to pacify them through non-deadly force at first, say, beanbags or special unusually strong joy buzzers that shoot prongs into them, or, failing that, we liquidate them through not-so-non-deadly force, say, 9mm+ lead projectiles   |
