A would-be robber was shot multiple times after the owner of an Oakland Park auto parts store managed to wrestle his gun from him and shoot him — and the entire confrontation was captured on surveillance video.

According to the Broward Sheriff’s Office, Conrad Bloomfield, 36, entered CAD Auto Parts, 2935 NW 17th Terrace, at about 1 p.m. Monday with an accomplice.

Bloomfield, BSO said, then went into Andrew Hepburn’s office. Hepburn, the store’s owner, can be seen in the video behind his desk, looking at his cellphone when a man comes in, knocks him off the chair and forces him on his stomach.

When the robber gets distracted, Hepburn grabs the man’s leg and then begins to hit him and manages to wrestle the gun from him. According to a police report, Hepburn shot Bloomfield five times in the chest area.

Meanwhile, a second robber shot at Hepburn and took off. A witness in the store also left.

BSO is now looking for a dark gray, late-model BMW and its driver who fled the scene just after the shooting. Detectives would also like to speak to the witness who left.

Oakland Park Fire Rescue transported Hepburn and Bloomfield to Broward Health Medical Center. According to BSO Spokeswoman Dani Moschella, Hepburn is in good condition and Bloomfield is in critical condition.

Bloomfield has been charged with attempted murder and and attempted armed robbery.

I've watched the video several times. What I can't understand is how the robber in the black cap missed the owner with his gun. Had the gun jammed? At first, it looked like the robber got off several shots but all missed.
