Kansas, Three suspects are still wanted after a news report exposed a brazen robbery on camera.
Overland Park police say they are getting several tips from people who saw the story and video, and recognized the attackers. It was that video that 21-year-old Katie O'Connor captured on her hidden camera that will hopefully lead to an arrest.
Three people attacked O'Connor in her home Tuesday morning near West 106th Street and Metcalf Avenue.
Police say they are working all of the leads they received from people who recognized them.
"We got several calls that came through dispatch after the video aired last night. Since that time our investigation division has assigned two detectives and they are following up in that they are trying to locate what they can as far as suspects," Officer Gary Mason said.
Police say the woman in the video has been identified, but is likely on the run. She was the only person O'Connor said she knew - a woman who befriended her.
O'Connor said she invited her to her home to look at some tools she was trying to get rid of. But O'Connor now believes it was a set up.
"I'm sure she knows after the video aired that we are looking for her, and her picture was across the news. So she can do us a favor and turn herself in and let us know what her side of the story was," Mason said.
The victim said she is no longer going back to her apartment.
