Re: RI Providence Police Beat a Man.
If the bad guy wasn't handcuffed at the time of the officers kicking and hitting him, then there might be a chance to justify their actions. If the bad guy were handcuffed, then they're screwed. It would be difficult to justify the kicking and use of any flashlights as impact weapons, but a great attorney might pull it off...but it's goingto be a very public jury trial. Anything can happen in a jury trial. The giving of a false name at the hospital is very damaging and shows intent and recognition that they committed a criminal act. That's going to be very hard to overcome.

That's ok with me...I don't think the officers did anything wrong in that case at all. That they even went to trial was totally politically motivated by a leftist Black mayor and city counsel. |

Re: RI Providence Police Beat a Man.
ohhh come on man. When any man is down on the ground and 5 cops are beating him down no matter race or color, it's just not right. think about it, what is he really going to do? I really felt bad for Rodney king, they beat him to a pulp. He was not endangering any officers while he was on the ground. I don't want this to become a big debate because I know you used to be a cop and you'll fight me to very end about it lol but comoonnnnn. Cops are the biggest gang in the world. Just because they wear a uniform doesn't mean they can all go around doing what they want. I know some good cops(very few) and you might have been one of them, but 80% of them don't follow the rules and break the law themselves.

Re: RI Providence Police Beat a Man.
I know exactly what happened and exactly why it happened and I dealt first hand with the consequences of what happened. I not going to go into detail on the fuck'n Rodney King affair on this thread. Start a new thread and I'll show you exactly what the officers did wrong, right, and what you think you saw...that wasn't even half the story. Just because you see something on the tv doesn't mean you know what your actually seeing. I bet you have never seen the whole long video tape of what happened. Rodney King was an active parolee with an incredibly long and serious criminal history that led officers on a significantly long, multi-jurisdictional, high speed pursuit. Did you know that Rodney had a passenger that fateful night? Well he did...that guy complied and went quietly in custody. Did you know Rodney was drunk on that fateful night (and acted just like he was on PCP)? There's a shitload of information that the media just forgot to tell folks at the time. I stand by my statement, I don't think those officers did a damned thing wrong in beating Rodney King.

Re: RI Providence Police Beat a Man.
The criminal element creates their own trouble. Cops are simply responding to it. Don't commit crime and don't fight cops. You'll have no problem this way. This guy had worse coming. Each of the cops involved should receive a paid week of vaction. Two paid weeks of vacation if any of this Trayvon Martin's bones were broken. |

Re: RI Providence Police Beat a Man.
