Providence Police were responding to a call of a disturbance. A suspect identified as Carolinmar Torres was breaking glass items on the porch. As Patrolman Michael Place approached Torres, he ordered her to stop. After Place attempted to calm Torres she became combative and attempted to strike him in the face.
According to police, another woman jumped onto the back of Place. After the officer managed to separate himself from the woman he grabbed Torres by the hair and pulled her down the stairs. While she was lying helpless on the sidewalk, he brutally punched her in the face then dragged her through the grass and down the sidewalk by her hair and arm toward the waiting patrol car.
Torres was charged with felony assault on a police officer and misdemeanors including resisting arrest.
No officers had been placed on leave or disciplined

This video should became training video on the need and use of passive restraints. What about mixing in some handcuffs? Dragging a woman by the hair may be fun to a Sterioded up Cop, but it does not make a very pretty video.

If you behave like a "Piece of Sh*t", you will be treated like one.


Cops lives and safety are always in danger in situations like these.

They want orderly compliance and an orderly arrest if necessary.

The people around the cops were feral animals and you never know what feral animals will do.


I knew a cop that was a handsome strong healthy young man that got shot in the head from a situation similar to this.

It wasn't even from the people directly involved.

It was in gangland and some banger saw a vulnerability and acted.

Now, this formerly strong healthy cop was shot in the head, had a large part of his brain removed and after a long 'recovery' period, spent the rest of his life in a Convalescent Home with old people.

He often would forget who he was, where he was and what he was doing.


I have no sympathy for trouble making cop hating uncooperative Pieces of Sh*t.

My Dad was a cop for 32 years, he told me some jacked up stories. I believe in this situation (video) we are catching the second half to this encounter. I am more than sure the cops approached the situation a lot more calmly then the video portrays
