Pomona Officers Shoot Man After He Points Gun at Them After Crash
Pomona police officers shot Kenneth Genardini at Holt Avenue and White Avenue on June 9, 2024. Officers had responded to the 200 block of Las Brisas Circle around 7:18 p.m. after a report that a husband fired a gun inside his home following a verbal dispute with his wife. The man left in a vehicle and collided with an uninvolved motorist. Officers arrived and tried to negotiate his surrender. They shot him when he reached for a firearm inside his vehicle and pointed it at them. Officers used an armored SWAT vehicle to remove the other motorist, who received medical attention from officers and Los Angeles County firefighters. Officers also rendered aid to the man they shot. He was taken to a hospital and was expected to recover. The first part of the video has no audio.
