In 99% of cases I would say a taser isn't necessary...but don't you think deploying a proven effective and almost completely non lethal tool is more appealing that risking (even minor) bodily harm? Take this interaction and multiply it by 10-100 and you can expect that intake officers deal with this exact scenario many times in a day. Would you like to go to work knowing that you are going to have to fist fight 50 people every day? Unless your an MMA fighter (and in training they rarely do full contact) I am guessing the answer is no...you would much rather use a taser... |
