Officers on Saturday afternoon released police body camera after officers shot and injured a man Wednesday in Seattle’s Belltown neighborhood.

Seattle police and King County deputies were conducting a narcotics operation about 2:45 p.m. near Third Avenue and Blanchard Street in response to community complaints about drug dealing in the area when police attempted to arrest a 25-year-old man who was in a vehicle, officials said.

In the , which begins just as an officer approaches the suspicious vehicle, everything seems to begin smoothly, and then the driver tells authorities he had bought the car but didn’t have any proof.

After officers ask additional questions, the driver then says he is on his way to get the title so the car can be transferred to his name.

The officer confirms there’s no warrant for his arrest as another officer continues speaking to the driver.

The man then tries to drive away and crashes into a Seattle police patrol vehicle, stopping the man’s car. Police can be heard telling the man to relax and stop.

In the , a deputy is seen approaching the car, and then someone yells, “He’s got a gun." In just moments, gunfire is heard.

After several commands from officers, police and deputies then approach the car, asking the man to show his hands.

The man is then pulled out of the car and officers are heard saying, “Get him in custody.”

Officers and deputies said Wednesday when they approached the man, they reportedly saw a gun and then opened fire, striking and wounding the man.

The man was taken to Harborview Medical Center to be treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

No officers or deputies were injured.

lot of going on past week in Seattle with shootings but this one i wonder why he tried to flee after everything was ok. maybe his gun was illegal or drugs in the car? Couldn't find any follow up on this nor his name.
