Police Fire Pepper Balls At Shaiitarrio Brown's Car, Denver, May 30, 2020
Denver police fired pepper balls at a car carrying Shaiitarrio Brown and his pregnant fiancee, Brittany King, near Colfax Avenue and Civic Center Park early May 30, 2020. Brown said they were delivering food and were not participating in the nearby George Floyd protests. Officers motioned the car forward before firing. Video shows pepper-ball powder bursting around the dark sedan. Brown got out and shouted that his fiancee was pregnant, asking officers to stop. Officers continued firing as he drove away, and rounds entered through the open passenger window. King suffered a broken right hand, chemical burns and bruising, with at least three impacts to her abdomen. She was treated at Denver Health. Brown suffered cuts and bruising. Police Chief Paul Pazen opened an internal-affairs complaint himself after the video circulated, before the couple came forward. No finding or disciplinary action was reported. The couple filed a federal civil-rights lawsuit in 2021 that also alleged King later experienced pregnancy complications. Denver City Council approved a $325,000 settlement on January 9, 2023.

Another one where was the footage from before? With a laptop in everopes pocket we should have something better. I’ll see if I can find the videos of the cops beating up and torching rheir own car but aside from that, these ones can be sorted out as useless. |

YEAH! Get out of the city that you are a citizen of!! We don't care WHO we shoot, and it could be you next! We don't care if you are just driving, maybe to the store to get food, or the pharmacy to get medicine. Fuck You, Citizen. I am truly surprised more of the asshole police have not been shot at. If I'm driving along, and someone attacks me, I guarantee there will be a response. |

Hypotheticals aren’t necessary. This whole “it could’ve been ME next” is outdated, and fallacious. Regardless of what he was doing, he was given orders and failed to comply. Also, if he’s a citizen (citizenship is allegiance to a government) of that city, so you put it, then certain responsibilities come with that allegiance, such as complying with it’s authority, otherwise he’s not a citizen at all, but a pirate. |
