A suspected drunken driver led troopers on a 17-mile chase at speeds up to 120 mph Saturday night before pulling into the path of a couple in a pickup truck. Jason Romine and an unidentified woman in the truck were taken to area hospitals. Their conditions were not available, but authorities said their injuries did not appear to be life-threatening.

Romine was taken to Aultman Hospital and into the custody of troopers from the Ohio Highway Patrol's Canton and New Philadelphia posts. Sgt. Pam Gowen of the Canton post said he was charged with operating a motor vehicle while impaired, felony failure to comply with police, no driver's license, no safety belt and reckless operation of a motor vehicle.
