Osvaldo Jose Garcia fled a traffic stop on Interstate 85 in Coweta County, Georgia, on March 30, 2022, leading a sheriff's deputy on a pursuit that exceeded 130 mph. Garcia's car initially stopped, but he drove away as the deputy approached on foot.

After the pursuit left Coweta County, Garcia pointed a firearm at the deputy and fired at least two rounds. Nobody was hit or injured. The chase ended when Garcia crashed at the bottom of an exit ramp in Fulton County. He was taken into custody without further incident and medically cleared before being booked into jail.

Garcia was charged with fleeing or attempting to elude, speeding and driving on a divided highway. The Georgia Bureau of Investigation was called in. The outcome of the case is not shown in the public record.

Props to the officer going 130+ with crazy poise. I know I've gone that speed down some straight backroads and I white knuckle it because I know its easy to lose control at that speed. This cop was one-handing and calm af. Real pro.

I guess the reason why the driver shoved his arm out the window and threw down some papers as he was pulling away was he was hoping the cop would pick up the papers for evidence and delay the pursuit?
