I find it difficult to make out what's happening here, the killer seems to move in front of the victim (a Buddhist Monk) obscuring the deed itself.

*Finally someone has taken a stand against these dastardly monks! I'm sure we all have had our own experiences being caught in dark and desolate places and surrounded by unruly Buddhists. But they become infinitely more aggressive around their monasteries, as in this instance. Like the confidence of wolves when within their pack.

I'm convinced same, the way they all react simultaneously is more likely from the sound of a gun and then after he collapses you see presumably a second shot that strikes the wall and gives off a cloud of dust

It would definitely explain what we're seeing. It just seems crazy that a sniper would risk shooting at night, from a distance, and at a target walking with a handful of people who look pretty much exactly like he does. No one died. Sri Lanka. A monk and a police man were shot and the killers were arrested.

CCTV footage of the Chief Incumbent of the Kiriwehera Viharaya, Ven. Kobawaka Dhammina Thero and another monk on the night of June 12th have been given to the media.

According to the scenes, the Chief Incumbent of the temple and several others who were returning from Kirivehera show how they were attacking and then they were hunting for the Chief Incumbent at that time.

On June 12, several persons who had come in a motor vehicle were shot and fired at the chief incumbent and the other monk with him.

Accordingly investigations were carried out by the Tangalle Anti-Corruption Unit and several other investigations. According to the investigations, seven suspects including seven suspects, including Asela Bandara of the Mahasen Madeevaweela Kapurugama Kataragama, were shot and taken into remand prison in connection with the shooting of the Chief incumbent of the Kirivehera Viharaya, Ven.
