Morganton Public Safety released the dash cam footage of the patrol car that was run off the road during a chase. Four were taken to the hospital after a three-car wreck. None of the injuries were severe.
If you look to the left hand side of the screen about 12 seconds into the video, the car without its headlights on is the suspect vehicle officers are pursuing.
Police said the police car's driver, Sgt. Tico Moss, passed the suspect vehicle to clear other vehicles out of the path of the chase.
The officer's car hit a guardrail, went down a ravine and hit a concrete slab, causing Sgt. Tico Moss to suffer minor head injuries. Moss was later released from Grace Hospital.
The three people inside the Honda Accord were not injured.
