Off-duty Officer Returns Fire Near 4800 S. Bishop
On August 3, 2025, at about 6 a.m., an officer-involved shooting happened near 4800 S. Bishop St. in Chicago. Four unknown people fired guns at off-duty Chicago Police Officer Cecilia Mercado as she parked her personal vehicle in her garage. Officer Mercado returned fire.
