NYPD Officers Fire at Armed Man in 114th Precinct
On Nov. 22, 2023, NYPD officers in the 114th Precinct were involved in an officer-involved shooting at an apartment building in New York City. Officers moved through the building while trying to find the right apartment and get access to it. After a shot was heard, they took cover. In the hallway, they moved people out of the way and warned them to be careful. Officers then encountered a man on an upper floor. They ordered him to put his hands up and drop the weapon, and one officer radioed that they had a male with a gun. Officers repeatedly told him to drop the gun. Shots were fired. The NYPD Force Investigation Division and the prosecutor with jurisdiction continued the investigation.
