MDSO Deputy Fires Shots During Park Gun Call

On April 2, 2026, a caller to the Miami-Dade Sheriff's Office reported kids running around with guns at Dibs Park in Miami-Dade County, at 21805 Southwest 114th Avenue. The caller said they were in the recreation building with 20 kids and answered yes when asked if there were threats.

When a deputy confronted someone, the deputy yelled for hands, warned that they would shoot, and ordered the person not to move. Shots were then fired, and voices yelled "shots fired" and told someone to move.
