July 28, 2019, A man walked into a precinct station house carrying a knife and asking officers to kill him in Brooklyn Sunday morning — and was then tased by cops, police sources told.
“The government is fucking me. I want you to shoot me,” the 26-year-old said in Spanish to the officers in the East New York precinct just after 8:30 a.m., according to sources.
A clip of the encounter shows a man casually walk into the station holding the knife.
The armed man stands in the lobby unfazed for about 30 seconds before cops see him and about half a dozen pull their weapons.
The man is eventually tased, then drops to the ground and is arrested. He was taken to a nearby hospital for minor injuries, according to the NYPD.
After cops got the man down, he asked officers “Why didn’t you shoot me. I’m too chicken to kill myself,” according to sources.
The man, who suffers from bipolar disorder, will not face charges, according to sources.
In May, a masked man strolled into another precinct lobby — this time in the South Bronx — armed with a knife.
Montey White, 27, didn’t say a word as one of the officers pulled his gun and asked the man, “What are you doing, man?”
Sources previously told they believed White was also attempting suicide by cop. He was eventually forced to the ground without incident.
