An Austin man shown in a police dashcam video igniting a large explosion in his car that injured him and 2 other officers Tuesday is being treated at San Antonio Military Medical Center's burn unit for serious burns.
Andrew Guerrero, 57, was taken to University Medical Center Brackenridge in downtown Austin before being transferred to San Antonio.
State District Judge David Wahlberg in Travis County issued an arrest warrant for Guerrero and charged the 57-year-old with first-degree felony arson. His bond has been set at $25,000.
Guerrero is not currently in custody but officials in Austin are coordinating his arrest with the San Antonio burn unit.
Stephen Galvan, spokesman for the U.S. Army Institute of Surgical Research burn center, said that Guerrero was in stable condition and is being transferred to another hospital.
Galvan said he was not sure what hospital the 57-year-old is being transferred to or if it is in San Antonio.
Damn fool.
