The three main suspects of the murder of bar owner Hari Gangawane were arrested within 48 hours of the incident. The Pune Rural Police apprehended the men, Rohit Sonawane (26), Aniket Gavhane (23), and Aditya Pawar (24), near the Supa toll plaza as they attempted to flee.

The attack stemmed from a six-month-old dispute at Gangawane’s beer bar regarding an unpaid liquor bill. Gangawane had reportedly assaulted Sonawane and Gavhane during that altercation, prompting them to seek revenge.

The night before the murder, both parties crossed paths at a local Ganesh mandal, resulting in a heated argument. A police patrol team intervened at the time to defuse the situation.

Early Friday morning, Gangawane and a friend visited a relative of one of the suspects to try and resolve the dispute peacefully. As Gangawane rode away on his motorcycle around 6:30 AM, the three suspects ambushed him. Rohit Sonawane fired multiple rounds at close range using a country-made pistol.
