Knifeman Tased, Shot By Cops In Connecticut “Naugatuck officers responded to the park located on Mill Street,” the inspector general’s office said. “Upon arrival, they observed Kyle O’Creene near a picnic table holding a knife.” It said O’Creene stood up and advanced on officers with the knife. He ignored multiple commands to drop the knife. “Officers initially attempted to subdue O’Creene using a Taser, but the Taser deployment was unsuccessful,” it said. “When O’Creene continued to advance on the Naugatuck officers still holding the knife, Officer Crystal Hudson and Officer Joseph Palhete discharged their handguns, striking and wounding O’Creene.” Officers on scene immediately provided medical aid to O’Creene who was taken to Waterbury Hospital for treatment. He remained at the hospital on Monday in stable condition.   |

O’Creene’s grandmother, Phylis Fonte, said police shot him once in each leg and once in his right arm. The bullet that struck his arm continued into his back. Fonte said police reached out to the family to say they would not charge O’Creene. O’Creene lives in Lantern Park Condominiums, immediately across the street from the pond, with his father and brother, Fonte said. After the shooting, family members found a one-word message on O’Creene’s computer: “Sorry.” Fonte said the family believes his actions were a suicide attempt or an attempt to commit “suicide by cop.” O’Creene has suffered from depression and low self-esteem, but he would not have hurt anyone, Fonte added. |

Haha, love to see them feeling so strong and powerful because The Taze didn't penetrate their thick coats contrasted with the blast of police issue lead and seeing them get wobbly and realizing they're half (actually 1/16th) the tough man they used to be  |
