An Ocala man has bonded out of jail after taking a deputy on a very dangerous and wild ride, police say.

It was around 8:30 on Saturday evening, when 42-year-old Abdiel Toribio was stopped in a silver pickup for having an expired tag.

According to police, when Deputy Christofer Frost asked him for his driver's license and vehicle information, Toribio was "evasive."

When Deputy Frost tried handcuffing the suspect, things got out of control, he says.

Frost had to lean into the vehicle and grab the steering wheel, so he wouldn't be run over, after Toribio pushed on the gas pedal.

Marion County Sheriff's spokesperson Judge Cochran says, "For about 50 yards, this deputy had to hold on for dear life.

At one point, he did stop. The deputy was able to put him in handcuffs and take him off to jail.

This particular suspect, had he cooperated, he probably wouldn't have gotten into as much trouble as he did get into. "

Investigators say the deputy was not hurt. They say the suspect's license had been suspended for a previous DUI and not paying associated court costs.

Toribio was charged with resisting with violence and driving on a suspended license.

Authorities say an open container of beer was also found in the truck.

The officer would have been well within policy and the law if he had shot this idiot during the impromptu trip.

Great cop, lot of restraint and I'm not a huge fan of law enforcement but you gotta give credit where credit is due.

That Deputy was as cold as ICE! He didn't even get hyped up or anything like it was just another day in the neighborhood!
