Jathian Amador, 20, was shot outside 17 Brook Street in Lawrence, Massachusetts, at about 5 p.m. on September 3, 2018. Shots were fired from a passing vehicle, striking Amador in the head and elsewhere. Emergency personnel treated him at the scene before taking him to Lawrence General Hospital, where he died from his injuries.

Amador's mother had gone inside seconds before the shooting and witnessed it from the doorway. Police said they did not believe the attack was random. Lawrence police and Massachusetts State Police detectives assigned to the Essex County District Attorney's Office investigated the killing, which was reported as the city's fourth homicide of 2018. Massachusetts State Police later included Amador's death among the unresolved homicides featured on its playing cards.

The mother of a Lawrence man shot to death late Monday afternoon cried out on the street yesterday, “My son, my son, they killed my son.”

Her son was gunned down in a shooting that was recorded on surveillance video.

“He was shot right in front of his mom two seconds after she went inside,” said his cousin (16). “She is never going to be the same.”
