Hooks Player Danry Vasquez in a Domestic Violence Incident Video
Newly released video of former Hooks player Danry Vasquez in a domestic violence incident at Whatburger Field in 2016 has the baseball player out of a job. The Lancaster Barnstormers announced yesterday that they have severed ties with Vasquez because of the incident. Their statement is as follows: The Lancaster Barnstormers have released outfielder Danry Vasquez, it has been announced by manager Ross Peeples. A recently released video out of Corpus Christi, Texas portrays a domestic violence episode involving Vasquez. Upon being made aware of the nature of the incident, the Barnstormers made a prompt decision to cut ties with the 24-year old outfielder. "There is no choice but to sever the relationship," said Peeples. "Neither I, nor the Barnstormers' organization as a whole, can condone or associate with that behavior." The criminal case against Vasquez was dismissed last week. The Nueces County District Attorney, Mark Gonzalez, said that though the footage is disturbing, Vasquez complied with his part of a plea agreement. D.A. Mark Gonzalez says former Hooks player, Danry Vasquez completed terms of plea deal. "Yes I've seen the video and that's what happens in domestic violence cases," Gonzalez told. "Every time a man or a woman hurts each other, that's what it looks like and it's ugly," Gonzalez said. |
