4th August 2020 – (Hong Kong) A robbery case occurred at Exit D of Tai Wai MTR Station today. At about 5pm today (4th), a 48-year-olld male engineer was robbed by two men armed with knives and a steel rod at the station. The victim resisted and was brutally beaten. The culprits used a knife and steel rod to slash and assault him causing injuries to his left hand and knee. The culprits snatched a Rolex Daytona watch worth about HK$270,000. According to sources, the engineer sold his watch online and was going to the MTR station to complete the sale with the buyer.
After escaping from the MTR station, the culprits took the footbridge to escape. Many passers-by saw them escape and they shouted loudly. Paramedics rushed to the scene and sent the victim the to hospital for treatment after being bandaged. The police arrived at the scene and cordoned off the area, but no trace of the culprits was seen.
The two suspects are in 20s and police checked the CCTV footage to identify them.
