Homeless Guy Fights Off Robber

A homeless man in western Oregon is being hailed a hero after fighting off a robber;

Detectives from the Portland Police Bureau in Oregon are looking for the man who robbed a Northeast Portland gas station.

It happened on January 24 at the Shell on NE Broadway at I-5.

Investigators said the hooded suspect walked in at approximately 10:16 a.m. and stole money from the cash drawer, but a customer attacked him before he got away from the store.
“I smashed him four times,“ said Mike Scofield.

The fight lasted less than thirty seconds before spilling into the parking lot.

“Kicked him twice and proceeded to fight all the way out the door,“ added Scofield. “Didn’t work, he still got away.“

“He didn’t have to step up,“ said Scofield’s friend Dirk Boyle. “He could’ve said, go ahead, just like anybody else would’ve done, but he actually stepped in and did a good job, I’m proud of him.“

The suspect is a black male, in his 30’s, approximately 6’2” tall and 150 pounds. He was last seen wearing a blue hooded sweatshirt and is described as having a shaved head, light complexion, and squinty eyes.
