Sept 25 2008, Holbrook Town Selectmen voted to reinstate Officer John Kearney. He was shown on police surveillance video beating an uncooperative, handcuffed prisoner.

The officer has been on paid administrative leave since January of 2007.
Just a couple of weeks ago, a jury acquitted the officer of all charges.

His lawyers successfully argued the force he used was not excessive.

In fact a jury agreed it was necessary to restrain a suspect with a violent criminal history.
