He was probably carrying out a hit on one of those officers and the target didn’t let his guard down so it turned into a brawl. Guy’s neighbor who hates cops (or coworker who hates him) coulda passed his name to someone who could find some dipshit who don’t give a fuck and is willing to roll the dice. Most of the time the cop isn’t so lucky. They get lulled into a false sense of security and don’t read the situation fast enough. Check out Officer Ariana Preston’s story.
