Sept. 12 2009 A man suffered deep cuts after he was hit across the face with a bottle during an early morning robbery at a Melbourne train station.
The 34-year-old Berwick man suffered deep cuts above his left eye after he was hit with an empty glass bottle about 4.30am on Saturday at Berwick station.
The man was waiting on the platform for a city-bound train when another man carrying an empty bottle came up and sat next to him.
The man waited for a short time then smashed the bottle across the victim's face before stealing the man's bag, which contained an Acer laptop computer, and fleeing the station.
The man fled in the back of a black four-wheel-drive, similar to a Ford Territory, which drove off towards Clyde Rd.
The victim suffered cuts around his eye and was taken to Casey Hospital where he received four stitches.
The offender is described as 19-20 years old, with a slim to medium build and a tanned complexion.
He was wearing a red cap, a red bandana around his neck and low riding jeans with red boxer shorts half exposed.
