Guy Sets Fire to the Customer Service Desk of Emergency Hospital
Brazil, A man wearing a helmet enters the emergency room and places a machete on the counter. The clerk and some patients walk away. The man then spreads fuel, he carried in a bottle, over the counter. Then he lights a match. The fire spreads and an explosion was heard. The man would be the father of a child who sought care hours before. According to the hospital, the parents arrived around 3:30 p.m. and went through the screening. As the nursing staff found that the child did not have symptoms that characterized emergency, they had to wait to see a doctor. About two hours later, still according to the hospital, the family decided to leave without receiving medical care. According to information from officials, around 18:40, the man returned to the scene without his wife and child. Wearing a helmet and holding a machete, he would have sent the people out to announce that he would set the place on fire. The fire was controlled with the use of extinguishers. Even so, about 15 employees needed medical attention because of the inhalation of smoke. |
