Great judgment call from an obviously experienced cop with balls of steel. The guy would have eventually turned around facing the storefronts and people. She should be credited with potentially saving many lives that day.

This guy grabbed a gun and jumped into a police truck and held officers at bay threatening to shoot them. Police ended up sneaking up behind him and arresting him.
