A store clerk was choked until she passed out when robbers hit up a Tyndall Park clothing store in broad daylight Monday July 6 2009.
The 21-year-old woman gained consciousness, discovered the Cloudy Daze store had been ransacked and called police.
She suffered only minor injuries, however, a spokesman with the Winnipeg Police Service said the outcome could have been much worse.
"It's a terrifying incident," said Const. Jason Michalyshen.
"She's very lucky that her injuries weren't more extensive," said Michalyshen.
Police say 3 men entered the store about 3:30 p.m., distracted the woman and then attacked her.
Money and clothing were taken, as well as a cellphone.
The WPS major crimes unit is now investigating the attack.
Cloudy Daze carries designer streetwear, like urban clothing lines Apple Bottoms and Married to the Mob.
Michalyshen said the store may have been specifically targeted for certain labels it carries.
People under the age of 18 are not allowed in the store, according to signs posted outside.
The store has frosted glass windows and surveillance cameras around it.
Police are looking for three men in connection with the attack.
One suspect is described as a tall aboriginal man in his 20s, with short black hair and a dark complexion.
The suspect is described as muscular and wearing a white T-shirt and blue jeans.
Another suspect is described as a skinny Caucasian in his late teens wearing a T-shirt.
A third suspect is described as an aboriginal in his late teens with a skinny build.
The men are believed to have made off in a white, half-ton truck, said police.
