April 13, 2024. The shooting took place after 41-Year old Benjamin Steven Woods and a woman stole a van and ditched it near a American Legion. Woods, runs inside and goes to the washroom and quickly returns out pointing a firearm at a deputy. Woods, was declared dead on scene.

Four deputies are on critical incident leave as two deputies by the names of Jim Payne and Michael Gonzalez undergo a use of force investigation along with two witness deputies.

Deputies later arrested the woman, identified as Lyndsey Dawn Jones, 42, about 3 p.m. in the 2100 block of Northeast 144th Street, according to court records.

A homeowner in that area said he found Jones hiding in his garage. The homeowner called 911 and followed Jones to the parking lot of a nearby business, according to an affidavit of probable cause.

She is being held at the Clark County Jail on suspicion of residential burglary. Her bail was set at $2,500, and she is scheduled to be arraigned April 29.

How was that "the coolest scene"? He got laid out by a bunch of bullets and died looking ridiculous, all folded like a lawn chair.

I appreciated how he fell to his knees and then took a while to expire. Most people on their feet simply fall over they don’t drop to their knees. You don’t have to like it but I did.

Over 3 minutes to walk up to him. I get it, they want to go home, too, but after you riddle someone with bullets shouldn't you consider moving up to the guy and rendering aid while he's busy doing his poorly timed matrix-bullet-dodge?

officers are required to provide first aid to anyone they use lethal force on at the first possible/safest point... it seemed apparent to me that he was immobilized, unconscious, or in a critical state directly after being shot... not to mention that for a good chunk of time the guy spent dying (and the officers, maintaining lethal cover), EMS was waiting to be let in.
