Escaped Inmate Caught on Camera Climbing Fence and Hide in Trash Can
An escaped inmate was caught on camera climbing a fence into a backyard and hiding from police in a trash can. Shon Alick Jolivette, 47, escaped from deputies while being brought to a hospital for medical care. He had been jailed in St. Landry Parish on charges including armed robbery, aggravated battery and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. Three Lafayette schools were locked down before school started following his escape. Spencer Simon shared home surveillance footage showing Jolivette climbing his fence into his backyard. He climbed into a garbage can, and the video shows two police officers with a dog briefly searching the yard and leaving. Simon said he called police to tell them that Jolivette had moved to a storage container in his yard, and they came back and arrested him. Lafayette police announced around 8:20 a.m. that Jolivette was back in custody. |

if it wasn't for that cam recording he would have got away with it he was clever enough to put that chair back too. Weird the dog didn't find him but maybe the can was real smelly etc.

It WOULDA worked, if it wasn't for those MEDDLING KIDS!!! Lucky he wasn't in Tucson. The trash cans here have "Javalina locks" on them to keep the lid locked shut when it closes. Then the homeowner could have put a couple of rounds through it, and put it out on trash day, and the guy would have disappeared, never to be seen again.  When fortune smiles upon you, SMILE back! Interesting how much time and effort the police are willing to spend to catch an escaped inmate. But, after "serving their time" they're, somehow, no longer a threat to society, because "justice" was done. What a silly world.
