shelf-stacker caught on camera licking a raw chicken and going on the rampage in a Preston supermarket has said: "I am truly sorry."
Grovelling Adeel Ayub was filmed on a mobile phone carrying out a catalogue of vile destruction while working at the Asda store in Fulwood.

And as appalled Asda bosses confirmed they have drafted in police to investigate the sickening footage, Ayub admitted he was ashamed of his behaviour and was ready to face the consequences.

The footage shows Ayub committing a wave of criminal damage and pranks including shoving his hands into, stamping on, and licking raw chickens before putting them back on shelves for customers to buy.

It also shows him urinating into a bin, smashing up trophies awarded to the store, setting off fire extinguishers, slashing colleague's clothes and playing pranks with food products.

Ayub, 30, formerly of Deepdale, said the videos – shot before he left the company in December 2006 – were edited to only feature him.
In a statement, he implicated other people he knew who the Evening Post has chosen not to name.

He said: "The last video we made was filmed back in 2006 not 2009 and was made not after I had left but before I had left.

"It was made during my day off. I know there is no excuse for my atrocious behaviour and I am truly sorry for what I did back then. I express my profound apologies to Asda and to its staff and customers.

"Words are insufficient to express my regret and remorse.

"I am deeply ashamed of my behaviour and am prepared to suffer any consequences as a result of my inexcusable actions."

An Asda spokeswoman said: "We are absolutely disgusted and appalled by the behaviour of this man.

"Despite leaving our business three years ago, now we have video evidence of criminal damage we are taking this matter up with the police."

Insp Jameel Murtza, of Fulwood Police, said: "We are currently in the process of reviewing CCTV footage of the incident.

"We are liaising with management at Asda with the aim of identifying any criminal offences that may have taken place."

guttsfuck: yeah and there was that documentary years ago about Tesco and how some staff were dropping meats on the floor only to pick them up and wrap them to sell, and relabelling food that was out of date. Damn scumbags need beheading!

Yep. I shop at Waitrose (Ocado) when I can afford it. The quality of the fruit and veg is way better than the others. The receipt is much better too, telling you what actual day items are going to go out of date. The meats are just expensive but at least I know it's quality
