Re: Deputy Spends Year and a Half Behind Bars, for Beating Man in the Back of squad car
We can only hope that there are good cops out there because we dont hear shit about them. We only hear about the ones that dont mind killing you or assulting you unnecessairly. To me it seems like there are more "bent" cops then good cops...For every lets say, 5 "good" cops, there are a thousand who will taze you to death, run you over, shoot you, cut off your clothes, punch you, set you up with bogus charges, plant drugs and guns on you or steal from you... As much as I want to believe that at a time where my life is in danger and I am depending on police to save my life...it seems to me that I'd have a 50% chance of dying by their hand. Maybe I have watched too many of these videos of cops brutalizing people...because I have little faith in them. |

Re: Deputy Spends Year and a Half Behind Bars, for Beating Man in the Back of squad car
You have been sucked in by the sensationalism of the press. A cop could stand and fight a man twice his size for a good 5 minutes taking a right bashing before backup arrives in order to protect people or their property. That happens time and again every day but will not make the press. As soon as a cop 'loses' it and hurts someone without good reason it spreads all over the tabloids like wildfire. I'm not saying there is any excuse for hurting people without good justification - it is an abuse of power and should rightly be dealt with firmly in the courts - but for every bad action made by a cop there will be hundreds of brave and noble actions that do not get mentioned in the press. |

And you would of gotten a whole lot worse from the judge as well. You are an example of what is wrong with the system. Remember, there are more of us than you. Piss us off , enough of us and you can be hunted down for sport. It has happened in the past and can happen again. History has a thing for repeating itself. Kicking out windows will seem tame indeed compared to what comes after a civil revolt.
