Watkins's defense attorney says his client approved of a release of Clemson University Police dash cam video of his arrest. In a statement, defense attorney Bob Ariail said the university gave them a copy of the dash cam video which had been requested by the news media.
Ariail said he and Watkins reviewed the tape..."Although I advised my client that he has sufficient legal rights to prevent the release of the video, we chose not to exercise those as we wish to cooperate with everyone involved in this matter."
